Yoga, False Arts, and Eastern Mysticism

BIBLE:
1 Timothy 4:1 – Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

The Bible says to bring every thought captive and make it obedient to Christ.

 2 Corinthians 10:5 – Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

1 John 4:1 – Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

Leviticus 20:6 - And the soul that turneth after such as have familiar spirits, and after wizards, to go a whoring after them, I will even set my face against that soul, and will cut him off from among his people.

Deuteronomy 18:9-14 – When thou art come into the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations. There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch. Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. FOR ALL THAT DO THESE THINGS ARE AN ABOMINATION UNTO THE LORD: and because of these abominations the Lord thy God doth drive them out from before thee. Thou shalt be perfect with the Lord thy God. For these nations, which thou shalt possess, hearkened unto observers of times, and unto diviners: but as for thee, the Lord thy God hath not suffered thee so to do.

Why Christians Should Avoid Yoga
The problem with Yoga is that it has entirely pagan origins, and it is still riddled with verbiage and ideas that propagate pagan practices/Eastern religious thought. It was created by, practiced by, and propagated by mostly Hindus and Buddhists, and it has direct spiritual applications for today.

The goal of the stretches, exercises, and mental techniques of yoga is to connect you with their false view of god” or “energy,”or to discover that you are really god (“god is everything”). This is the whole agenda behind these false religions–to make people work for perfection or salvation, or to get people’s focus off the true God and back on themselves (or another false god or belief system).

The word “yoga” literally means “to join” or “to unite,” and it is connected with a sense of “being” or “deity,” which reflects the Hindu or Buddhist version of God referred to as “Brahman.” This “Brahman” is completely contrary to what the Bible teaches about the nature of God. Furthermore, the intention of yoga has remained unchanged even today. While some people think they are doing harmless exercises, this exact practice is still being done with the expectation of “healings,” “spiritual awareness,” and/or “contact” with this mystical force.

Key Points to Remember About Yoga
  • The word “yoga” literally means “to unite” or “to join,” and it’s referring to a false god concept. Can Christians practice “joining to a false god?” For a Christian to say, “I practice yoga,” is to literally say, “I practice uniting with Brahman.”
  • Yoga was started by Eastern religions, which all are false religions according to God’s word. Yoga remains strongly connected to these practices today. Any Buddhist I’ve ever met does these things.
  • Yoga contains words, thoughts, and ideas in its various teachings, books, and videos, which are contrary to what God says about the world and nature of humanity.
  • Most yoga instructors practice Buddhism, and they begin coaching people on these philosophies while explaining how to meditate or stretch. Some yoga places offer books and literature to lead people into a Buddhist/Hindu philosophy on life.
  • While yoga may provide minimal health benefits, yoga practitioners often make exaggerated claims, suggesting that yoga can treat heart disease, cancer, anxiety, depression, and a multitude of disorders. Many of these claims have been scientifically proven false.
  • Most Buddhists/Hindus do not like the teachings of Christianity (especially sin, nature, eternal life, and resurrection).

This is a powerful 5 minute video from an Indian lady who left Yoga and became a Christian and she tells you what Yoga is really all about:

Yoga Got Me DEMON POSSESSED

Think You Can Be a Christian and Do Yoga?

ALL TYPES OF YOGA ARE DEMONIC: Listen to this lady break this down.

DEFINITION OF YOGA:

YOGA IS FROM THE THEOSOPHY TEACHINGS WHICH THE PROPHET SAYS WE ARE TO HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THEOSOPHY
“The warnings of the word of God regarding the perils surrounding the Christian church belong to us today. As in the days of the apostles men tried by tradition and philosophy to destroy faith in the Scriptures, so today, by the pleasing sentiments of higher criticism, evolution, spiritualism, theosophy, and pantheism, the enemy of righteousness is seeking to lead souls into forbidden paths...” {AA 474.1}
