Garlic

A flavorful shield against infection, colds, and heart disease, this herb is well worth its lingering aroma (reason why when using uncooked garlic for health benefits to only use a clove you just cut, crushed, diced etc & not use older garlic or jar minced garlic, or garlic powder etc.)

When a garlic clove is cut, the exposure to air releases 200 compounds with myriad medicinal abilities. One compound, allicin, is responsible for garlic’s legendary antibacterial properties. Allicin also keeps fungus and yeast infections in check and significantly increases immunity to the common cold. More important, the stinking rose reduces risk for atherosclerosis, the cause of most heart attacks and strokes, and evidence suggests that it may impede hypertension and cancer. Garlic contains high levels of selenium, which has anticancer efficacy, and components that form glutathione, the most powerful antioxidant the body manufactures, which thwarts cancer and diabetes. Choose It & Use It

Use garlic liberally, aiming to consume several cloves a day. Excessive heat destroys allicin, but letting freshly chopped garlic sit for 10 minutes before cooking helps retain allicin’s healing powers. To eat a lot at once, slice the top off of a head of garlic and set it aside for 20 minutes. Then roast it for 30 minutes in a 350°F oven, and spread the softened cloves on whole-wheat bread.

Chemotherapy and Radiation

CHEMOTHERAPY – Thirteen drugs are used in chemotherapy and their consequent side effects (as listed in the drugs package inserts for physicians), which include:

Destruction of the immune system,
Leukopenia,
Hemorrhage,
Gonadal suppression,
Bone marrow depression,
Phlebosclerosis (hardening of the veins),
Severe cellulites,
Vesication (blistering),
Tissue necrosis (death),
Fever,
Chills,
Nausea,
Prolonged vomiting,
Partial or total hair loss,
Lethargy,
Disorientation,
Ataxis (inability to coordinate muscle movements),
Dysarthria, (impaired speech),
Anorexia,
Enteritis,
Stomatitis,
Erythema, (morbid redness of the skin),
Anemia,
Liver failure,
Kidney failure,
Cancer,
And Death.

CHEMOTHERAPY and RADIATION DESTROY the immune system, the ONLY system in our body that gets us well and keeps us well from EVERY disease! Chemotherapy and radiation also destroy cells indiscriminately. Chemotherapy is poison and kills cells by poisoning them. It is a chemical and, of course, is unable to tell a cancer cell from a non cancer cell. That's why a person's hair falls out and they get so sick and vomit, because the chemotherapy kills cells indiscriminately. The explanation the doctor gives to justify using chemotherapy is that the chemotherapy tends to kill the cells that are the fastest growing or the fast-dividing cells, thus it will kill MORE cancer cells than normal cells. And this is true. But it kills so MANY normal cells, particularly the immune cells, which the patient often dies from the TREATMENT rather than from the cancer!

RADIATION burns out the cancer. It burns everything in its pathway. It also, like chemotherapy, kills cells absolutely indiscriminately and it destroys the immune system.
When the immune system is so severely damaged by chemotherapy or radiation, it can no longer restrain the spread of cancer. It is common after these methods of treatment to find that soon the cancer has returned and spread everywhere!

Chemotherapy and Radiation does not kill cancer cells completely. The left behind cancer cells becomes more resistance towards chemo and radiation and comes back again with more aggressiveness.

Does the mainstream media ever report about the overwhelming scientific evidence that shows chemotherapy has zero benefits in the five-year survival rate of colon cancer patients? Or how many oncologists stand up for their cancer patients and protect them against chemotherapy treatment which they very well know can cause them to die far more quickly than if they received no treatment at all? Can you trustingly place your life into their hands when you know that most of them would not even consider chemotherapy for themselves if they were diagnosed with cancer? What do they know that you don't? The news is spreading fast that in the United States physician-caused fatalities now exceed 750,000 each year. Perhaps, many doctors no longer trust in what they practice, for good reasons.

Even the Journal of the American Medical Association took note of the phenomenon when, in its diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer by Dr. Maurice Fox, a biologist from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. On the basis of studies carried out at the Harvard School of Public health, Dr. Fox found, among other things, that: Those who refused medical procedures had a lower mortality rate than those who submitted.

HEALTH NEWS ~ JUNE

Well, summer will officially be here soon.  Praise the Lord!  I love all the fresh fruit and vegetables we can get in summer. Here is a great recipe to try!

Grilled Cheese Sandwiches OR Cheese Spread

Blend until creamy:
1 c. water
¾ c. raw cashews
2 T. sesame seeds
1 ¼ t. real salt
½ t. garlic powder
1 T. onion powder
¼ t. dill seed
½ fresh red bell pepper
1-2 T. lemon juice
¼ c. oats, quick

Cook in pot on stove until thick.  Spread on bread and make grilled cheese as usual. Spread on toast. If using as a spread, put in container after cooking and let chill completely. 

Exercise is very important and we need to be doing it 5-6 days a week.  It is good for the heart too.  Here is what inspiration says:

“Walking, in all cases where it is possible, is the best exercise, because in walking, all the muscles are brought into action. There is no exercise that can take the place of walking. Want of exercise causes the bowels to become enfeebled and shrunken. Exercise will strengthen these organs that have become enfeebled for want of use. The circulation of the blood is greatly improved by the act of walking.” HR, July 1, 1872 par. 14

Wow walking sure is important and such a simple thing everyone can do and afford!

“Exercise quickens and equalizes the circulation of the blood, but in idleness the blood does not circulate freely, and the changes in it, so necessary to life and health, do not take place." MH 238 (1905). 1MCP 116

“Moderate exercise every day will impart strength to the muscles, which without exercise become flabby and enfeebled. By active exercise in the open air every day, the liver, kidneys, and lungs also will be strengthened to perform their work.” CG 339

“Such exercise would in many cases be better for the health than medicine. Physicians often advise their patients to take an ocean voyage, to go to some mineral spring, or to visit different places for change of climate, when in most cases if they would eat temperately, and take cheerful, healthful exercise they would recover health and would save time and money.”  MH 240

Health Benefits of Exercise and Physical Activity:

- Reduces the risk of premature death
- Reduces the risk of developing and/or dying from heart disease
- Reduces high blood pressure or the risk of developing high blood pressure
- Reduces high cholesterol or the risk of developing high cholesterol
- Reduces the risk of developing colon cancer and breast cancer
- Reduces the risk of developing diabetes
- Reduces or maintains body weight or body fat
- Builds and maintains healthy muscles, bones, and joints
- Reduces depression and anxiety
- Improves psychological well-being
- Enhances work, recreation, and sport performance

Sunshine is also a very important part of our health message.  We all need it and would not be healthy without it. The Sun is the brightest and most familiar object in the sky. Life on Earth would not be possible without it: Inspiration even talks about sunshine!

“Nothing so tends to restore health and happiness as living amid attractive country surroundings.... May God help us to do our utmost to utilize the life-giving power of sunshine and fresh air.” Testimonies, vol. 7, pp. 76-79. RC 145

Vitamin D is often referred to as the “sunshine” vitamin because our bodies can make it when our skin is exposed to the sun. About 10-15 minutes of sun exposure per day on our face, hands and arms—without sunscreen—is enough to meet our needs. And because it is a fat-soluble vitamin, it is stored in our fat cells for the days and weeks that we do not get enough sun exposure.

The food we eat exists because of sunlight falling on green plants.  The Earth would probably not be fit for life. Life as we know it needs liquid water, and Earth is the only planet to have it: without the Sun, Earth would be an icy rock in space. Even now, Earth is probably the only place in our solar system fit for life: any water on Venus and Mercury would become steam, any on Mars or on more distant planets would freeze.

Wow, even invalids can benefit from sunshine!  What an awesome God we serve!

“The Lord has provided antidotes for disease in simple plants, [SEE FOOTNOTES ON PAGE 289 OF SELECTED MESSAGES, BOOK 2.] and these can be used by faith, with no denial of faith; for by using the blessings provided by God for our benefit we are cooperating with Him. He can use water and sunshine and the herbs which He has caused to grow, in healing maladies brought on by indiscretion or accident. We do not manifest a lack of faith when we ask God to bless His remedies. True faith will thank God for the knowledge of how to use these precious blessings in a way which will restore mental and physical vigor.”  16MR 248

Sunshine is very important to us and our planet as you already know. Too much can be bad tho too… so don’t overdo it either as you can get skin cancer from too much sun!
