FEVER CONTROL

In ways we don't often realize, many of our prominent diseases are intimately associated with our exposure to chemicals of various kinds, from kitchen detergents and exhaust fumes, to powerful drugs.

We've become so accustomed to contact with chemicals and drugs that we have idiomatic expressions in our language, such as "harmless as an  aspirin:' However, we shouldn't regard any exposure to a chemical not  native to the body or the natural environment as being harmless, or to be used safely, without restraint.

Aspirin

Aspirin, the trade name for acetylsalicylic acid, should be looked at carefully; since about 10,000 Americans lose their lives each year because of its use, not counting deaths from accidental overdosage in children.

Some 40,000 tons are used worldwide to the tune of $1.6 billion in sales each year, making it the most common nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) in use. However, approximately five percent of those taking aspirin will have heartburn after a single dose, and stomach bleeding and ulceration may follow in susceptible individuals. This affliction results in most of the deaths from aspirin.

Aspirin can double the time necessary for human blood to clot, increasing the likelihood of hemorrhage, but the most disabling of the adverse reactions by far, is that of asthma. This is often caused by very small amounts of the drug, and may be accompanied by swelling of the larynx, abdominal pain, and shock. In an occasional case, death may occur within minutes, but fortunately, this type of sensitivity occurs in less than 0.2 percent of the general population.

Aspirin overdose is a major cause of death in children up to 6 years of age, accounting for more than 500 deaths each year. Great care should be taken to protect unborn babies from drugs, no matter how mild - including antacids, antihistamines, or any other drug or chemical. This point cannot be emphasized too strongly, as many infants are marked for life because of a small exposure to a chemical the mother took while pregnant. Often the defect in the child is of a biochemical nature, rather than a structural abnormality

Fever Control

Fortunately, most fevers can be easily controlled without NSAIDs. A hot bath of 105-110° F can easily treat common fevers by sitting in it until the skin is quite red, and profuse sweating occurs. It is important to keep an ice-cold cloth to the forehead after the first five minutes - or from the beginning, if the fever starts out over 101° F.

Take a cup of hot water or hot herb tea when sweating begins, and after 10-20 minutes, when the skin is red and the patient is sweating profusely; finish off by taking a brief spray of cool water over the entire body from the chin downward.

Follow up with a quick friction rubdown with a coarse towel, then wrap up in a bathrobe, jump in bed, and sweat for a full half-hour. After this, take a normal shower to cleanse the skin and relieve the sense of chilliness after sweating, and re-dress. If the treatment has been a good one, a sensation of weakness may develop after a minute or so of standing' because of the transfer of blood from the interior of the body to the exterior. This is normal, and should be followed with a period of rest.

Improve Liver, Adrenal Gland, and Kidney Functions with Activated Charcoal

It was in 1831 when Professor Touery (in the presence of his colleagues from the French Academy of Medicine) drank a lethal dose of strychnine, and, to their great surprise, survived. He mixed the poison with activated charcoal. Activated charcoal is a powerful tool for emergency cleansing of the gastrointestinal tract, perhaps the most effective remedy known today. It can be used in cases of poisoning from virtually any toxic substance. Activated charcoal reduces the absorption of poisonous substances up to 60%. Activated charcoal is a sponge-like substance that is made from different carbon-containing substances of natural origin.

Activated charcoal is charcoal that has been treated with oxygen.  The treatment results in a highly porous charcoal. It is made at very high temperatures and as a result, activated charcoal is a substance which is almost one hundred percent composed of carbon.  The chemical composition of charcoal is very similar to graphite. Useful properties of activated charcoal can be contributed to the huge number of pores and hence activated charcoal exhibits very high absorbent and catalytic properties.

One teaspoon of activated charcoal has a surface area of approximately 10,000 square feet. It adsorbs and helps eliminate toxins, heavy metals, chemicals, pharmaceutical drugs, morphine, pesticides from your body.

Benefits of Activated Charcoal and Its Uses:
- Poisoning by various chemical substances, drugs, toxic heavy metals, alkaloids
- Overall body detoxification
- Food poisoning
- Treating stomach pain caused by excess gas, diarrhea, or indigestion.
- Body odor and bad breath
- Hepatitis: chronic and acute viral
- Withdrawal syndrome (as a rule, is used for drinking, not for drug addiction)
- Intoxication caused by chemotherapy or radiotherapy
- Various skin ailments
- Inflammation
- Helps lower cholesterol, triglycerides and lipids found in the blood.

Activated Charcoal DOES NOT deplete your body of nutrients.  In his book Activated Charcoal, David O. Cooney stated, “Charcoal added to the diet of sheep for six months did not cause a loss of nutrients, as compared with sheep not receiving charcoal. … 5 % of the total diet was charcoal. It did not affect the blood or urinary levels of calcium, copper, iron, magnesium, inorganic phosphorus, potassium, sodium, zinc, creatinine, uric acid, urea nitrogen, alkaline phosphatase, total protein or urine pH.” Activated charcoal is often included as an ingredient in body detox products. You can find it various forms such as powder form, liquid form and chewable tablets.

EGGS

If you eat eggs, there are some things you should know. The word egg is a reproductive body of an animal whose embryo is covered with a shell of membrane.

So for those of us who have not realized it, eggs pertain to female ovum. The egg contains the biogenetic makeup of its parent organism.

Most humans eat eggs that are not from their own species. The eggs eaten by humans usually come from fowl or birds that have a very different biogenetic and molecular structural makeup.

Eating eggs can promote a host of diseases and pathologies. Eggs can play a pivotal role in some female reproductive diseases including fibroid tumors, uterine cysts, breast cancer and tumors, and menstrual irregularities. Also, since these chicken eggs are sterilized or infertile, they are in fact impairing their own sexual fertility and potency.

Eating eggs can certainly change or alter your bio-chemical, genetic, and molecular makeup and make you susceptible to a host of diseases and pathologies. Eggs are more dangerous than smoking cigarettes found in a recent London study.

Researchers found that eating egg yolks regularly increased plaque buildup approximately two-thirds as much as smoking would. Using data from more than 1200 people in London, it appeared those who ate three or more egg yolks a week had significantly more plaque in their arteries than those who ate no eggs at all. One large egg has 100 calories, 230 milligrams of cholesterol in the yolk.

The 280 million chickens used each year for their eggs, called "laying hens" by the industry, endure a nightmare that lasts for two years.

At just a few days old, a large portion of each hen's beak is cut off with a burning-hot blade, and no painkillers are used. Many birds, unable to eat because of the pain, die from dehydration and weakened immune systems.

After enduring these mutilations, hens are shoved into tiny wire "battery" cages, which measure roughly 18 by 20 inches and hold five to 11 hens, each of whom has a wingspan of 32 inches. Even in the best-case scenario, each hen will spend the rest of her life crowded in a space about the size of a file drawer with four other hens, unable to lift even a single wing.

The birds are crammed so closely together that these normally clean animals are forced to urinate and defecate on one another. The stench of ammonia and feces hangs heavy in the air, and disease runs rampant in the filthy, cramped sheds. Many birds die, and survivors are often forced to live with their dead and dying cagemates, who are sometimes left to rot.

The light in the sheds is constantly manipulated in order to maximize egg production. Periodically, for two weeks at a time, the hens are only fed reduced-calorie feed. This process induces an extra laying cycle.

Male chicks are worthless to the egg industry, so every year millions of them are tossed into trash bags to suffocate or are thrown into high-speed grinders called "macerators" while they are still alive.

Just imagine the scenario for an instant in your mind. Every time I see an omelet or bake goods or a hard boil egg, I think of the horrible production from the agony of the chicken to the commercializing of egg marketing. It is profoundly sad and draws tears to my eyes.

Before eating an egg consider the following:

1) An egg is for producing a new chick.
2) An egg is a chicken's period.
3) An egg is highly acidic and toxic to the blood and tissues.
4) An egg when cracked creates over 38 million pathological
microorganisms that are harmful to the body.
5) Eating an egg will pollute the blood and tissues with excess bacteria and yeast.
6) The ingestion of an egg will immediately activate the white blood cells.
7) An egg is one of my top ten toxic acidic foods to never eat.

HEALTH NEWS ~ FEBRUARY

Hello everyone!  It’s hard to believe its February already. Next month we can look forward to spring! Here is a good, healthy treat to make using no refined sugar.

Almond Joy’s

1½ c. boiling water
2¼ c. dates
1 t. real salt
¼ t. almond extract (no alcohol)
1 c. barley flour
⅔ c. almond or peanut butter
3 c. coconut (unsweetened)

Pour boiling water over dates in a blender. When softened add salt and almond extract. Partially liquefy leaving some lumps. In a large mixing bowl place flour and nut butter. Cut together until nut butter is evenly distributed. Add coconut and date mixture. Blend well. Prepare cookie sheets with parchment paper. Drop onto cookie sheet (any size) and press an almond (or two) into each one. Bake 350º for about 15 minutes or until slightly brown. Yield: 50-55 cookies

When cooled, melt homemade carob chips (ask me for recipe) with some almond or peanut butter and dip or drizzle it over the cookies on wax paper. To store the cookies, put them in the refrigerator or freezer.

What God created is what He intended for us to eat. His original diet was to nourish, strengthen and build our bodies.

It’s important to recognize that what we feed our children will directly affect their nature, their character, their attitude, their physical being.

“Parents should make it their first business to understand the laws of life and health, that nothing shall be done by them in the preparation of food, or through any other habits, which will develop wrong tendencies in their children. How carefully should mothers study to prepare their tables with the most simple, healthful food, that the digestive organs may not be weakened, the nervous forces unbalanced, and the instruction which they should give their children counteracted by the food placed before them. This food either weakens or strengthens the organs of the stomach and has much to do in controlling the physical and moral health of the children, who are God's blood-bought property. What a sacred trust is committed to parents to guard the physical and moral constitutions of their children so that the nervous system may be well balanced and the soul not be endangered!” Te 184.2

This tells me what I fix my children may develop wrong tendencies…Wow you mean if I give my child candy that it will make a difference in them following instructions we give them…..it will destroy their nervous systems is what it is saying. I think it applies to adults as well; we have the same bodies!

Appetite controls and passions are out of control because of our diet. It’s a serious problem in our country today.

When asked how much sugar does the average person consume every year? Here is what 2 Doctors said:

Mehmet Oz, MD, Cardiology answered – “The average person consumes 150 pounds of sugar per year–compared to just 7 ½ pounds consumed on average in the year 1700.That's 20 times as much!”   --  WOW!!!   What a difference!

Joan Salge Blake, MS, RD, Nutrition & Dietetics answered - "Americans, on average, are consuming 22 teaspoons of added sugar daily, the equivalent of 350 calories. That's over 8,000 teaspoons annually! This amount is double the amount recommended daily by the American Heart Association."

Gerry Curatola, DDS, Dentist, answered - "Since 1983 (the year before my oldest daughter was born), sugar consumption has been steadily increasing every year by an average of 28%, fueling an epidemic of obesity, dental disease, diabetes and other health problems."

Those of us who don’t consume that much sugar, someone else is eating our share.  I wonder who is eating my share?

Sugar is in everything, all processed foods and even canned vegetables…and more. We are over stimulating and ruining the health of our kids thru the use of sugar alone, to say nothing of the additives, preservatives and colorings and all the other chemicals they are pouring into food that are killing our health and making our spiritual nature benumbed.

Vitamin B is a very important vitamin in the body and it is necessary for vital body functions.  It is to control the nervous system, regulate and calm the nerves and to make them function well.  Vitamin B is needed to metabolize sugar.  What happens then when we consume too much sugar? The body robs the Vitamin B from the nervous system and sends it over to the metabolizing and digesting of the sugar to maintain all the sugar overload that’s coming into the body and then the nervous system is short circuiting. The nerves become frayed, frazzled, and spasmodic. The child becomes very HYPERACTIVE because they don’t have Vitamin B to meet needs of the nervous system and it becomes out of control and children become hyperactive and their attention span decreases.

“Through the channel of appetite, the passions are inflamed, and the moral powers are paralyzed, so that parental instruction in the principles of morality and true goodness falls upon the ear without affecting the heart. The most fearful warnings and threatenings of the word of God are not powerful enough to arouse the benumbed intellect and awaken the violated conscience.” Te 183.1

Our passions are inflamed and our moral powers become paralyzed…that means that our ability to stand for what’s right when we know it’s right becomes paralyzed so that parental instruction and the principles of morality and true goodness falls upon the ear without affecting the heart.

When thru the channel of appetite, our passions become inflamed, our moral powers and the moral powers of our children become paralyzed and our instruction to our children fall on deaf ears without affecting the heart, that means no change in character. Don’t we want to change the heart so the character changes?

It’s saying that by what we feed our children we can actually short circuit the Spirit of God the Holy Spirit working in the heart of our children, because of the appetites raging and the passions becoming out of control.

God help us as parents to wake up to see that what we feed our children (and ourselves) is not just hurting their physical body for the moment but it is affecting their moral and spiritual character for eternity.

Look at our nation today. The morality of this nation and our country, the passions and temper, the whole atmosphere, it’s intense, immoral and evil.

God wants us to recognize that what we do as parents in how we feed our children (and ourselves) is having a dramatic affect.

I pray God will help you to make the necessary changes in your diet and in your children’s diet so that you and they can develop good moral and spiritual characters for eternity!
