I only had enough ginger to make this tea 1 time and I literally lost about 1-2 pounds of water weight. I will soon be purchasing more to make it for 30 days.
1. Get a 32 oz. Mason Jar
2. In a sauce pot, put in 36 oz. of filtered water + 4 inches of ginger root thinly sliced (1/8 to 1/4” thick). Do not peel, only wash the peel, as this has lots of healthful properties in it. Turn the flame on high.
3. Next peel (don't use the already peeled garlic) and slice 4 good sized fresh garlic cloves (not the whole bulb, but the cloves) and add to the pot.
4. When water comes to a rapid boil, turn flame low, cover with lid and simmer x 15 minutes.
5. When time is up, let cool to warm, strain into 32 oz. Mason Jar and add couple of teaspoons of honey (optional) with fresh lemon juice. (also optional)
6. Make this every day for at least 30 days.
Ginger is not a spice as many claim, although it tastes spicy. It is a root. The prophet used it frequently.
SOP QUOTES:
“Sara bought...some warm water this morning. I put ginger in it and it went well.” {11MR 70.2}
“In regard to our using spice, I plead not guilty. We have not had spice in our house for ten years, except a little ginger, which we have always used to some extent.” {15MR 245.4}
She speaks against spices, yet we see here she used ginger. Although it's referred to as a spice by many, it's actually a root. Look what she says about roots.
“God has caused to grow out of the ground herbs for the use of man, and if we understand the nature of these roots and herbs, and make a right use of them, there would not be a necessity of running for the doctor so frequently, and people would be in much better health than they are today.”
--Letter 35, 1890. {MM 230.3}
“...There are simple herbs and roots that every family may use for themselves and need not call a physician any sooner than they would call a lawyer...” {2SM 279.1}
