The following remedy for narcotic overdose is from one of Dr. John Harvey Kellogg's medical books that the prophet said we are to read:
“Mustard Flour also is used as an emetic, especially in emergencies from narcotic poisoning. The required dose is a heaping dessert spoonful in half a pint of warm water repeated every ten or fifteen minutes till vomiting occurs.”
She approved Kellogg’s Home Handbook (Domestic Hygiene and Rational Medicine)
This was Kellogg’s major medical textbook, extremely popular in Adventist homes.
She encouraged its circulation:
“Dr. Kellogg’s book on physiology and hygiene should be in every family. Its instructions are invaluable.” — Ellen G. White, Review and Herald, Dec. 1, 1885
She frequently encouraged Adventists to read sound medical and hygiene instruction—and often stated that Dr. Kellogg’s writings provided that instruction (before 1902).
Examples:
“The instruction given in Dr. Kellogg’s writings upon health reform is sound, and should be appreciated by our people.” — Letter 73, 1896
“Dr. Kellogg has been chosen of God as a physician. His books should be widely circulated.” — Letter 33, 1899
