- THE #1 CAUSE OF HEADACHES, INCLUDING MIGRAINS = DEHYDRATION. See ‘Your Body’s Many Cries for Water’, pages 23-24,52-53
- The BEST REMEDY FOR HEADACHES = WATER TREATMENTS
“Pure air, sunlight, abstemiousness, rest, exercise, proper diet, the use of water, trust in divine power—these are the true remedies. EVERY PERSON should have a knowledge of nature’s remedial agencies and how to apply them. It is essential both to understand the principles involved in the treatment of the sick and to have a practical training that will enable one rightly to use this knowledge.” {MH 127.2}
“In health and in sickness, pure water is one of heaven’s choicest blessings. Its proper use promotes health…the external application of water is one of the easiest and most satisfactory ways of regulating the circulation of the blood…” {MH 237.1}
Water treatments are not appreciated as they should be, and to apply them skillfully requires work that many are…unwilling to perform. But none should feel excused for ignorance or indifference on this subject. There are many ways in which water can be applied to relieve pain and check disease. All should become intelligent in its use in simple home treatments. Mothers, especially, should know how to care for their families in both health and sickness.” {MH 237.2}

ANOTHER WONDERFUL WATER TREATMENT FOR HEADACHES TO DO IN CONJUCTION WITH DRINKING THE WATER
HOT AND COLD APPLICATIONS ON THE HEAD:
- In many cases, HOT FOMENTATIONS applied to the head and alternated with cold every 5 minutes, for ½ hour, will give relief
- This will be 3 rotations of 5 minutes hot, then 5 minutes cold
- Be sure to end with the 5 minutes cold

WHY DOES THIS WORK?
Heat and cold exert a powerful influence on the nervous organism, as well as on the temperature of the body and the circulation of the blood. Heat applied to any part of the body expands the vessels of the part and increases the activity of the nerves. The blood vessels enlarge, and lose their contractile powers to a certain extent, and become more or less distended with blood. Cold applied to these vessels causes them to contract and force the blood out, leaving less than their usual supply.
In congestion and inflammation the circulation is obstructed by the capillaries becoming distended and surcharged with blood. The most successful means of overcoming these conditions is by the use of water. Water, when applied cold, will absorb the heat and cause the capillaries to contract, thus forcing the blood out and so relieving the congested organ. If the water is applied very hot at first for a few minutes, and then quite cold for a short time, alternating thus for thirty to sixty minutes, the blood will be caused to circulate freely through the parts until the cause of the congestion is removed. This last method of applying water is very successful in removing congestions where they are not deep seated. But if the inflammation is deep seated, prolonged hot applications in the region of the inflamed part will be found the most efficacious, as it relieves the affected organ by relaxing the vessels of the surface and thus causing them to become distended with blood, which is thus diverted from the previously inflamed or congested organ.
WHAT ELSE TO DO IF THE ABOVE DOES NOT WORK:
THE HOT FOOT BATH:
Pg. 150 on the pdf page on the above link -- Pg. 142 of the actual book page
This Treatment Is For:
- Headaches
- Toothaches
- Acute pain in any body part
How To Perform:
- This bath may be taken in a large wash-basin or tin pan, or in a water bucket, or in a tub made for the purpose.
- It consists of placing the feet in a sufficient amount of water to cover both them and the ankles well
- It may be any temperature, BUT HOT IS THE BEST FOR HEADACHES
- Should be done 3-4 x day/for 5 minutes
- I do it 20 minutes/2 x day and have always had success
- When taken in connection with a sitz-bath, the foot-bath is a most useful application
THE SITZ BATH:
- A powerful tonic when applied daily in cold or cool water
- Done for 20-30 minutes = a derivative and sedative whether given cool, tepid, or warm
Pg. 147-150 on the PDF page on the above link.
Pg. 139-142 on the actual book page.
This Treatment Is For Problems Of The:
- Very worst Cold
- Bowels
- Urinary system
- Reproductive Organs
- Liver
- Spleen
- Constipation
- Diarrhea
- dysentery
- Piles(hemorrhoids)
- Kidney Disease
- Bladder Disease
- Chronic affections of the Stomach
- Great in conjunction of a hot foot-bath for headaches
Note: This bath is one of the most effectual forms of bath that can be used.
- May be given in a long and wide dishpan they use in restaurants. Can purchase and ‘Cash And Carry’ for a little under $4
- To give this bath properly, 3-4 gallons of water are required
- It may be given cold, cool, tepid, warm, or hot
- Always wet the head with cold water before sitting down in the tub. Keeping a cold rag on the forehead and back of the neck at all times works great too
- The water for the foot-bath should be 5 or 8 degrees warmer than the sitz-bath
- After the patient is seated in the bath, an attendant should throw a blanket over him to cover all but the head. It should be so adjusted as to keep the steam from escaping the bathtub
- The patient should then thoroughly rub his abdomen, chest, and hips
- If the patient is weak and debilitated, the bath should be taken at 85-90 degrees for 5-8 minutes, after which it should be reduced 10 degrees and continued 3 minutes longer
- If it is taken for the purpose of removing congestion, or to relieve headache, it should be at a temperature of from 90-98 degrees X 12-15 minutes; after which, reduce the water 10 degrees and take the bath x 3 or 5 minutes longer. If this had become chronic, do this bath daily or every other day 5 or 8 minutes
- For removing a severe cold, wet the head with cold water and have the water in the sitz-tub at 100 degrees, gradually raising it to 110 degrees, with that in the foot-bath 2 or 3 degrees hotter. Cover the patient with a blanket, as before directed, and let him sit in the bath for 15 minutes OR 30 minutes, unless he sweats profusely, or becomes weary, or liable to faint; in which case, take him out after first cooling the bath in the usual manner.
- It will be necessary to add, occasionally, hot water to that in the bath, while the patient is in it, so as to keep it at the proper temperature, which should be as hot as the patient can bear. Note: Be careful with diabetics, as many cannot feel the temperature.
- Drinking a glass of hot water after sitting in the bath 8 or 10 minutes will hasten the sweating process. The patient should not be allowed to remain long in the bath after sweating begins.
- The object is not to occasion profuse sweating, but to open the pores of the skin, and thus establish the work of depuration through the skin, and draw the blood from the congested organs
- After sweating has begun, or on leaving this bath for any cause, the water in both the foot-bath and the sitz-bath should be reduced 10 degrees, and after the lapse of 3 minutes it should be reduced 10 degrees more
- The patient should then wash off briskly, wipe dry, and rub well with the naked hand
- Note: This bath will usually break up the very worst cold if the patient will, in the meantime, abstain from eating for 1 or 2 meals, being careful not to expose himself, and keeping quiet
- WARNING: Prolonged cold hip-baths should never be taken except by direction of a skillful physician, for there is danger of producing local congestion if they are given unskillfully

WHAT I DID FOR MY BEST FRIEND’S MOTHER WHO HAD SEVERE PNEUMONIA:
- 10 minutes hot fomentation on both the chest and back area over the lungs with a 30 second cold rub in between each application, doing 3 rotations of this, for a total of 31.5 minutes, finishing off with the cold and drying the back and chest area well. See video that will be put up on YouTube to see how this is done or read the book at the above link to learn how to do hot fomentation's. You may do this 2 x day, but to be honest, all 4 people I have worked with that had Pneumonia, everyone’s pneumonia was gone the next day in conjunction with doing the following as well. But continue to do this until the person you work on no longer has Pneumonia.
- Mix ½ cup pure honey (if raw be sure it’s boiled first, see 2SM 301.1**) with 4 drops of ingestible Eucalyptus Essential OilMix well and take 1 Tablespoon before bedtime. May take during daytime if necessary but be sure to take prior to bedtime. Do this for a couple of days. **Unpasteurized honey is not really to be taken by mouth
- Mix ¼ cup Olive oil with 3 drops each of eucalyptus and peppermint oilRub over chest and back area over lungs and on bottom of feet. Be sure to put socks on afterwards. Do this 2 x day/morning and evening until lung condition is gone.
- If they have a difficult time breathing, into 1 ½ inches of water, put 1 full dropperful of Lobelia tincture + 2 full dropperfuls of Mullein tincture, stir and drink. This normally helps the person breathe well instantly
- Also, in a handheld nebulizer (you may purchase online for $25), put a tiny bit of water into the section where the medicine goes + 2 drops each of eucalyptus oil and peppermint oil for about 10/12 minutes.
