WHEN IS IT TO BE DONE?
“GOSPEL MEDICAL MISSIONARIES--ARE NEEDED NOW. You cannot afford to spend years in preparation. Soon doors now open to the truth will be forever closed. Carry the message now. Do not wait, allowing the enemy to take possession of the fields now open before you...” {9T 172 .4}

“In connection with my husband, I was to be a medical missionary worker. I was to set an example to the church by taking the sick to my home and caring for them. This I have done, giving the women and children vigorous treatment. I was also to speak on the subject of Christian temperance...I engaged heartily in this work, and spoke to large assemblies...” {1SM 33 .2}
“...Let little companies go forth to do the work to which Christ appointed his disciples...let them pray for the sick, ministering to their necessities, NOT WITH DRUGS, but with nature's remedies, and teaching them how to regain health and avoid disease.” {9T 172 .4}
“The workers should go forth two by two, that they may pray and consult together. NEVER should they be sent out ALONE. The lord Jesus Christ sent forth his disciples two and two into all the cities of Israel. He who has given you your commission will give you skill and understanding as you consecrate yourselves to His service, engaging diligently in labor and study, doing your best to bring relief to the sick and suffering.” {CH 539.2
TO GO OUT AND BE TRAINED BY MINISTERS IN GOSPEL LINES:
“Young men who have a practical knowledge of how to treat the sick are now to be sent out to do gospel medical missionary work, in connection with more experienced gospel workers. If these young men will give themselves to the study of the word, they will become successful evangelists. The ministers with whom these young men labor are to give them the same opportunity to learn that Elijah gave Elisha. They are to show them how to teach the truth to others. Where it is possible, these young men should VISIT THE HOSPITALS...” {CH 538 .1}
“He gave them power to heal the sick and to cast out devils in His name. The two lines of work must not be separated...the medical missionary work is to be connected with the third angel's message as the hand is connected with the body; and the education of students in medical missionary lines is NOT COMPLETE unless they are trained to work in connection with the church and the ministry.” {CH 557.1}
WHAT THIS WORK WILL DO FOR GOD'S PEOPLE?
“The world is a lazar house filled with victims of both physical and spiritual disease. Everywhere people are perishing for lack of a knowledge of the truths that have been committed to us. The members of the church are in need of an awakening, that they may realize their responsibility to impart these truths. Those who have been enlightened by the truth are to be light bearers to the world. To hide our light at this time is to make a terrible mistake. The message to God's people today is: “Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee.” {7T 62 .1}

A: Isaiah 58:6-8:
58:6 – Is not this the fast that I have chosen? To loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?
58:7 – Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh?
58:8 – Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the LORD shall be thy rereward.

A CALL FOR GOSPEL MEDICAL MISSIONARIES:
“When Jesus sent forth the Twelve on their first mission of mercy, He commissioned them “to preach the kingdom of God, and to HEAL THE SICK.” Luke 9:2. “As ye go,” He said, “preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.” Matthew 10:7, 8. And as they “went through the towns, preaching the gospel, and healing everywhere” (Luke 9:6), the blessing of heaven accompanied their labors. The fulfillment of the Saviour's commission by the disciples made their message the power of God unto salvation, and through their efforts many were brought to a knowledge of the Messiah.” {CT 465 .1}
“The Seventy who were sent out a little later were also commissioned to “heal the sick” (Luke 10:9) as well as to announce the advent of the promised Redeemer. In their work of teaching and healing, the disciples followed the example of the Master Teacher, who ministered to both soul and body. Even though but few accept the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, their work will not be in vain; for one soul is precious, very precious, in the sight of God.
