“We have come to a time when every member of the church should take hold of medical missionary work. The world is a lazar house filled with victims of both physical and spiritual disease…” (7T 62.1)
“Medical missionary work is the pioneer work of the gospel, the door through which the truth for this time is to find entrance to many homes. God's people are to be genuine medical missionaries, for they are to learn to minister to the needs of both soul and body. The purest unselfishness it to be shown by our workers as, with the knowledge and experience gained by practical work, they go out to give treatments to the sick. As they go from house to house they will find access to many hearts. Many will be reached who otherwise never would have heard the gospel message…” {WM 125.1}
“All through this country a work must be done that has not yet been done. The medical missionary work must be recognized. Those who go forth to engage in the work of the ministry must be intelligent upon the subject of health reform…” {MM 238.3}
“Gather up all the knowledge possible that will help to combat disease. This may be done by those who are diligent students. …few can take a course of training in our medical institutions. But all can study our health literature and become intelligent on this important subject.” {MM 320.2-.3}
“…Fifty times as much might be accomplished in self-education than now is if the minds of men and women were awake to their own possibilities and privileges. Education of self means more than the colleges can give you…” (3MR 363.2)
“…ye must step fast.” Some of us have had time to get the truth and to advance step by step, and every step we have taken has given us strength to take the next. But now time is almost finished, and what we have been years learning, they will have to learn in a few months. They will also have much to unlearn and much to learn again…” {EW 67.2}

WHY?
“As religious aggression subverts the liberties of our nation, those who would stand for freedom of conscience will be placed in unfavorable positions. For their own sake, they should, while they have opportunity, become intelligent in regard to disease, its causes, prevention, and cure. And those who do this will find a field of labor anywhere. There will be suffering ones, plenty of them, who will need help, not only among those of our own faith, but largely among those who know not the truth.” {CH 506.1}
QUESTION:
If someone were to come to you today and say I have diabetes can you help me?
I have heart disease, do you know how to help me reverse it?
I am hemorrhaging…can you help me?
Would you be able to answer yes to all the above as well as to any other condition that may arise?
The purpose of our up and coming classes is to teach the Medical Missionary work in such a simple way that even children will know how to do this work. We will be teaching the most simple methods that are the least expensive. We won’t be juicing, doing colonics, using supplements, or electrical devices, etc.
THIS TRAINING WILL BE SO SIMPLE, THAT THE SIMPLE WILL CONFOUND THE THINGS OF THE WISE.
“In every place the sick may be found, and those who go forth as workers for Christ should be true health reformers, prepared to give those who are sick the simple treatments that will relieve them, and then pray with them. Thus they will open the door for the entrance of the truth. The doing of this work will be followed by good results…” (MM 320.2)
GOD HAS MARKED OUT A WAY
“There are many ways of practicing the healing art, but there is only one way that Heaven approves. God's remedies are the simple agencies of nature that will not tax or debilitate the system through their powerful properties…” {5T 443.1}
“…the Lord has marked out a way in which His people are to carry forward a work of physical healing…”
(MM 14.3)
“Because the word of God has been neglected, strange things have been done in the medical missionary work of late. The Lord cannot accept the present showing. {CH 370.3}
“Many have misinterpreted health reform, and have received perverted ideas of what constitutes right living…” {CD 200.3}
“The present truth is not difficult to be understood, and the people whom God is leading will be united upon this broad, firm platform. He will not use individuals of different faith, opinions, and views, to scatter and divide. Heaven and holy angels are working to unite, to bring into the unity of the faith, into the one body. Satan opposes this, and is determined to scatter, and divide, and bring in different sentiments, that the prayer of Christ may not be answered: “Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on Me through their word; that they all may be one; as Thou, Father, art in Me, and I in Thee, that they also may be one in Us: that the world may believe that Thou hast sent Me.” John 17:20, 21. Jesus designed that the faith of His people should be one. If one goes forth preaching one thing, and another differing with him preaches something else, how can those who believe through their word be one? There will be difference of sentiments.” {1T 326.2}
Many are going directly contrary to the light which God has given to His people, because they do not read the books which contain the light and knowledge in cautions, reproofs, and warnings. The cares of the world, the love of fashion, and the lack of religion have turned the attention from the light God has so graciously given, while books and periodicals containing error are traveling all over the country. Skepticism and infidelity are increasing everywhere. Light so precious, coming from the throne of God, is hid under a bushel. God will make His people responsible for this neglect. An account must be rendered to Him for every ray of light He has let shine upon our pathway, whether it has been improved to our advancement in divine things or rejected because it was more agreeable to follow inclination.” {4T 391.1}
“The volumes of Spirit of Prophecy, and also the Testimonies, should be introduced into every Sabbathkeeping family, and the brethren should know their value and be urged to read them. It was not the wisest plan to place these books at a low figure and have only one set in a church. They should be in the library of every family and read again and again. Let them be kept where they can be read by many, and let them be worn out in being read by all the neighbors.” {4T 390.3}
WHAT IS DISEASE?
“…Disease is an effort of nature to free the system from conditions that result from a violation of the laws of health….” (MH 127.1)
WHY IS THERE DISEASE?
“Disease never comes without a cause. The way is prepared, and disease invited, by disregard of the laws of health. Many suffer in consequence of the transgression of their parents. While they are not responsible for what their parents have done, it is nevertheless their duty to ascertain what are and what are not violations of the laws of health. They should avoid the wrong habits of their parents and, by correct living, place themselves in better conditions. {MH 234.1}
HOW MUCH OF SICKNESS AND DISEASE IS FROM VIOLATING THE LAWS OF HEALTH?
“It is a sin to be sick, for all sickness is the result of transgression. Many are suffering in consequence of the transgression of their parents. They cannot be censured for their parents' sin; but it is nevertheless their duty to ascertain wherein their parents violated the laws of their being, which has entailed upon their offspring so miserable an inheritance; and wherein their parents' habits were wrong, they should change their course, and place themselves by correct habits in a better relation to health.” {CH 37.2}
HOW MANY PEOPLE WILL RECOVER FROM SICKNESS AND DISEASE IF THEY FOLLOW ALL THAT THEY KNOW IN REGARDS TO THE LAWS OF LIFE AND HEALTH?
“Physicians often advise invalids to visit foreign countries, to go to some mineral spring, or to traverse the ocean, in order to regain health; when, in nine cases out of ten, if they would eat temperately, and engage in healthful exercise with a cheerful spirit, they would regain health and save time and money. Exercise, and a free, abundant use of the air and sunlight--blessings which heaven has bestowed upon all--would in many cases give life and strength to the emaciated invalid.” {CD 302.1}
“Nature will want some assistance to bring things to their proper condition, which may be found in the simplest remedies, especially in the use of nature's own furnished remedies--pure air, and with a precious knowledge of how to breathe; pure water, with a knowledge how to apply it; plenty of sunlight in every room in the house if possible, and with an intelligent knowledge of what advantages are to be gained by its use. All these are powerful in their efficiency, and the patient who has obtained a knowledge of how to eat and dress healthfully may live for comfort, for peace, for health, and will not be prevailed upon to put to his lips drugs, which, in the place of helping nature, paralyzes her powers. If the sick and suffering will do only as well as they know in regard to living out the principles of health reform perseveringly, then they will in nine cases out of ten recover from their ailments.” {MM 223.4}
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO RECOVER?
The use of natural remedies requires an amount of care and effort that many are not willing to give. Nature's process of healing and upbuilding is gradual, and to the impatient it seems slow. The surrender of hurtful indulgences requires sacrifice. But in the end it will be found that nature, untrammeled, does her work wisely and well. Those who persevere in obedience to her laws will reap the reward in health of body and health of mind.” {MH 127.3}

WHAT TO DO IN CASE OF SICKNESS & DISEASE?

- Unhealthful conditions should be changed,

- Then nature is to be assisted in her effort to expel impurities and to re-establish right conditions in the system.” {MH 127.1}
